The Eastern Professional Hockey League was a minor professional hockey league that operated for four seasons, from 1959 to 1963.
In July 1959, the Quebec Hockey League announced that it would fold. Two of its four teams, the Quebec Aces and the Chicoutimi Sagueneens, announced that they would suspend operations. The remaining two teams, the Montreal Royals and the Trois-Rivieres Lions joined up with three teams from Ontario Hockey Association Senior Eastern division: the Hull-Ottawa Canadians and Kingston Merchants (later renamed Frontenacs), and two teams from the OHA Senior Northern division: The Sudbury Wolves and Sault Ste. Marie Greyhouds (later renamed Thunderbirds). The EPHL teams were sponsored by NHL teams.
